US producer teams up with Dutch Maurice West for debut release KSHMR launches record label Dharma

World famed US producer KSHMR officially launches his own record label Dharma today with debut release ‘Festival Of Lights’. For this, he’s teamed up with rising Dutch star Maurice West, resulting in a solid big room anthem filled with KSHMR’s trademark exotics and productional wizardry.

KSHMR exploded onto the scene in 2014 with his first release, ‘Megalodon’. Since then, he’s released a string of tracks going #1 on Beatport which quickly garnered him a rapidly growing fan base. In 2016, KSHMR was awarded DJ Mag’s prestigious accolade of Best New Live Act, climbed to number 12 on their Top 100 DJ list and graces the cover of the March issue.

KSHMR has continued his run of success into 2016 with a number of phenomenal singles such as ‘Touch’ and ‘Wildcard’ and massive performances at Coachella and EDC Las Vegas, and continues to push the envelope of contemporary dance music.

Moving into 2017, he’s kept on delivering groundbreaking hit records, including the Tiësto collab ‘Harder’ and teamup with Crossnaders ‘Back To Me’. This is now followed up by the launch of his first ever record label, aptly titled Dharma, which is set to release a full KSHMR ‘Materia’ EP on August 4th, now preceeded by one of its singles ‘Festival Of Lights’, a collab with Dutch rising star Maurice West, making this the debut Dharma release.

“Festival of Lights is an homage to Dilwali. It started with an inspiring demo from up-and-comer Maurice West, which in turn became the basis for the whole Materia EP”, say KSHMR.

KSHMR on Dharma: “Dharma will be a home for music with soul, from around the world and most importantly music I love. It gives me a platform to nourish and present new artists”.

Maurice West info. 20-year old Dutch DJ and producer Maurice West has already made huge moves in the dance music community, signing to W&W’s imprint Mainstage Music as their first artist as well as joining the Armada team within just a year after releasing his first track. Maurice set his goals at a young age, growing up in a family of skillful musicians and exploring instruments like the piano, guitar and drums. In 2015 he released a streak of hard hitting tracks like Blaze (Sweet Lies) and Kung Fu (with Kenneth G), earning him a following that acknowledges him for his own recognizable sound. Maurice’s work is getting him massive support from the dance music elite, such as Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Hardwell. Bigroom legends W&W have taken him under their wings and blow away huge festival crowds like Tomorrowland and Ultra with his tunes. By dropping bangers like Poseidon, Dojo and TEMPLE (with hardstyle legends D-Block & S-Te-Fan), Maurice is taking the download charts and radio airwaves by storm, now underlined with his KSHMR collab ‘Festival Of Lights’.

“I had been walking around with the melody for ‘Festival Of Lights’ for a long time and knew it would be a perfect fit for KSHMR. I made a sketch of the track and sent it over to him. The next morning I woke up to an email from KSHMR saying he loved it and wanted to work with me on it! The whole process of working together was an amazing experience and I’m really proud of the end result” – Maurice West
