Justin Oh is the one of the first acts to bring a K-Pop element to the dance music scene, with Hyolyn being the first K-Pop artist to feature on a release via Spinnin’ Records.

I have attached the PR in case you would like more information on the release. Would be great to know what you think of the track, and to discuss some potential coverage if you’re digging it.

Rewriting the genre boundaries by fusing unique Asian influences into electronic dance music, ‘Jekyll & Hyde’ is a fusion of K-Pop, EDM, Future Bass and Trap, which Justin himself has coined as ‘Future Trap’. Opening with a delicate vocal topline, ‘Jekyll & Hyde’ quickly elevates towards a kinetic drop, flipping the track into a bass-fuelled anthem. Keeping in line with its title, ‘Jekyll & Hyde’ is a masterful play between subtle melodies and hard-hitting drops and is sure to grab the attention of even the most discernable bass music lovers. Deciding to craft a Korean version of ‘Jekyll & Hyde’ alongside the original, released via Loen Entertainment, Justin strives to introduce new sounds to EDM lovers in Korea, as well K-pop fanatics across the globe. Teaming up with director Olav Stubberud, whose client roster includes the likes of Justin Bieber and Kygo, the visual accompaniment is fittingly shot throughout Singapore, Bali, Tokyo and Seoul, heightening the Asian influences represented in the track.

Hyolyn’s rise to fame has been nothing but explosive. Making her debut as a member of the K-pop group Sistar, Hyolyn rapidly rose to global stardom through a slew of releases, both with the group and as a solo artist. A multi-talented creative, Hyolyn has also seen success from her acting roles, most notably on the KBS drama ‘Dream High’. Known for crossing the musical boundaries herself, Hyolyn has experimented with genres outside of the k-pop sphere, delving into a recent collaboration with revered hip hop and electronic music group Far East Movement, and with the four-time Grammy Award winner Giorgio Moroder, who contributed to French electronic duo Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’ album, and even sharing the stage with funk and soul legend Stevie Wonder for a special performance of ‘I Just Came To Say I Love You’. Now, she turns her attention towards the electronic dance space, teaming up with Justin Oh for their most genre-defying release yet.

Known for pioneering the Korean EDM scene, Justin Oh is now seeking to commandeer a new genre of electronic music. Revolutionizing the dance scene, Justin has not only brought a new sound to the market, but is also the first to bring K-pop to the global electronic scene. The first ever track to feature a K-pop artist on Spinnin’ Records – one of worlds the leading dance labels – it appears Justin’s innovative ideas are already setting him on a non-stop trajectory to change the electronic scene as we see it today. With more groundbreaking announcements on the way, make sure to watch this space for any upcoming news from both Justin Oh and Hyolyn.
