Avante Black will be touring and performing at European festivals

Fresh from causing a storm late last year with the release of debut single ‘Drug Money’, Avante Black are back to unleash the official video. Directed by Alden Volney (Jamie XX, Temples) the video elevates ‘Drug Money’s exploding electronics via a kaleidoscopic mix of block shapes, vibrant colours and vivid 3D animation.

Counting songwriting references as varied as Florence and the Machine, Maggie Rogers and Lana Del Rey and a sound that takes influence from Flume to Tove Lo and the bittersweet synth-pop of Sälen, Avante Black manage to sit comfortably alongside their peers but with a signature sound and attitude that’s all their own.

Ottilia’s melodic, compulsive vocal secured Huw Stephen’s early BBC Radio 1 support, quickly followed by acclaim across The Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland, Popjustice, Idolator, Spindle Magazine and more, plus a Top 3 main chart position on Hype Machine. ‘Drug Money’s alternative pop perfection soon accelerated to encompass inclusion in ‘Best of 2016’ and ‘2017 Ones To Watch’ lists.

Hot off the track’s ‘Best of 2016’ status, a heady reworking came in from fellow Scandi-pop favourites Anna Of The North, catapulting the record into 2017 with further critical acclaim. Avante Black will be touring and performing at European festivals later this year whilst writing on the road for their debut album.
